Team of the Week - Round Twenty-Eight

The biggest result of the weekend saw QPR close the gap at the foot of the table with a crucial away win at Southampton while Gareth Bale was on target again for Spurs in their 2-1 derby win over Arsenal. There were wins for all the teams in the top four, while Everton and Liverpool kept up their hopes of European qualification with victories as well. But who made it into the POT Team of the Week?

Goalkeeper: Pepe Reina (Liverpool)

Although Liverpool beat Wigan 4-0, Reina kept his side in the game with a series of excellent saves, the pick of them from Arouna Kone when the scores were goalless and from Emmerson Boyce after Liverpool had taken the lead.

Full-backs: Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Gael Clichy (Man City)

The signing of Azpi has had a major impact on Chelsea's backline, as it has allowed Branislav Ivanovic to move into the middle (and Terry on the bench) but the Spanish full-back has flourished, while Clichy didn't have too much to do but unlike his compatriot Samir Nasri, has improved his game since joining City.

Centre-backs: Winston Reid (West Ham), Jan Vertonghen (Spurs)

Reid was dominant as the Hammers picked up a crucial away win at Stoke while Vertonghen was outstanding in Spurs's derby win over Arsenal, making one challenge on Olivier Giroud just when the Frenchman seemed set to score.

Holding Midfielders: Jonathan De Guzman (Swansea), Park Ji-Sung (QPR) De Guzman was outstanding in Swansea's win over Newcastle, completing 89 per cent of his 71 passes, while Park's energy in midfield helped QPR gain a crucial away win and close the gap at the bottom of the table.

Attacking Midfielders: Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool), Shinji Kagawa (ManUtd), Ashkan Dejagah (Fulham)

Coutinho set up Suarez for two goals in the Liverpool win, Kagawa became the first Asian to score a Premier League hat-trick while Dejagah continued his improved form and some neat wing trickery won Fulham a penalty at Sunderland.

Centre-forward: Luis Suarez (Liverpool)

Another hat-trick for Suarez whose form, and goals, this season is showing no sign of slowing down. The Uruguayan is unstoppable at the moment.
