BetRepublic Review: A Racing Book Without a GRAI Licence

BetRepublic prices sport and horse racing and runs a casino, yet names no licence anywhere and is missing from the Irish register every online bookmaker now needs. Swerve.

BetRepublic: review

BetRepublic is not licensed in Ireland, and for a bookmaker that is now a hard line rather than a technicality. Since 1 July 2026 every online bookmaker taking bets from Ireland needs a remote betting licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, and BetRepublic is not on the register; its own rules do not name a licence from anywhere.

BetRepublic review: what is on offer

The site lists a sportsbook, horse racing, virtual sports, an online casino and a live casino. For an Irish punter the racing is the likely draw, and it is exactly the product Irish law now reserves for licensed firms. We could not read prices, each-way terms or any best odds concession, and would not compare them if we could while the licence question stands.

Licence: three sources, three answers

  • The operator's rules, section 2.3, list excluded jurisdictions including the UK, US, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Malta and Cyprus. Ireland is not among them. Neither the rules nor the footer name a licensed company.
  • One review site reports a licence from the Tobique Gaming Commission.
  • Another lists no gambling licence at all.

When the operator itself is silent, none of those can be treated as settled.

The offences in the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 are aimed at the operator: providing gambling in Ireland without a licence is an offence, and the GRAI can seek High Court orders to block the payments and websites of unlicensed providers. A punter with money on such a site has no Irish regulator to complain to and no guarantee the account stays reachable. Our licensing page lists who does hold an Irish betting licence.

Bonus, app and withdrawals

No BetRepublic bonus, promo code or no deposit offer for Ireland is verified, and none is listed. No app is confirmed in the Irish stores, and payout times were not readable. Searches for each of these exist; none has a checked answer.

Where to bet on racing instead

Bookmakers on the GRAI register answer to an Irish regulator that can investigate and fine. Our betting hub ranks only those firms, and the each-way guide explains the place terms worth comparing between them.

BetRepublic verdict

Swerve, and no link. A bookmaker without a GRAI licence is not one we would point an Irish punter towards; its form line is bottom-rated on licence. Betting is 18+ only; if you need a break, our safer gambling page lists free Irish help.

Readers' questions

Does BetRepublic have an Irish licence?
No. It is not on the GRAI register, which every online bookmaker serving Ireland has needed since 1 July 2026.
Which licence does BetRepublic hold?
Its rules and footer name none. One review site reports a Tobique Gaming Commission licence; another lists none.
Does BetRepublic accept Irish customers?
Its excluded list does not mention Ireland, so it appears to, but it holds no Irish licence.
