Betinia Review: Malta Casino, No GRAI Betting Licence
Betinia runs its casino under a Malta licence and still cites a Revenue number for Irish sports betting. That number belongs to a regime that ended for online bookmakers in June.

Betinia is a Malta-licensed casino run by Maltix Limited that accepts players from Ireland, and it also offers a sportsbook to Irish residents. The catch in this Betinia review is the sportsbook: the site cites a Revenue licence for it, but online bookmakers have needed a GRAI licence since 1 July 2026, and Betinia was not on the GRAI register when we checked on 29 October.
Who runs Betinia
The footer of the official site names Maltix Limited as the operator, licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority under MGA/B2C/486/2018, valid to 12 December 2028. The full licence line from our operator data: Malta Gaming Authority MGA/B2C/486/2018 (valid to 12/12/2028); Irish sportsbook under Revenue Commissioners licence 1020269. No founding year or group owner was confirmed.
The Betinia licence position in Ireland
There are two halves to it.
The casino. Betinia's casino has no Irish licence because none can yet be issued: the GRAI expects to begin gaming licensing in early 2027. Until then a Malta licence is the normal arrangement for a reputable casino serving Ireland, and it gives you a regulator with a public register and a complaints process.
The sportsbook. The footer says sports betting for Republic of Ireland residents is provided under Revenue licence 1020269. Revenue no longer issues remote bookmaker's licences. According to answers given in the Dail, remote betting licensees held Revenue licences until 30 June 2026 and have needed a GRAI licence from 1 July. Betinia's operator is not on the GRAI register. On that record we cannot treat the Revenue number as a current Irish betting licence, and we would not use the sportsbook until a GRAI entry appears. Our licensing page explains the changeover.
What Betinia offers
The confirmed product is the casino. Live casino, racing markets and the extent of the sportsbook were not confirmed in our data. Payment methods, the minimum deposit () and payout times () were not confirmed either; the site refused our automated reading for much of the research and the terms URL returned an error.
Betinia bonus and free spins
We did not confirm the current Betinia bonus or free spins offer, so the field stays empty unless verified: . A promo code, if any, shows here: . With an MGA casino, the terms of a bonus are at least enforceable through Malta; read the wagering multiple, the time limit and which games count before accepting.
The Betinia app
No app on Google Play or the App Store was confirmed. Assume a browser site until the operator data says otherwise.
Betinia sister sites
We found no confirmed sister brands under Maltix Limited. The sister sites page lists groups where the record is clear.
Before you open a Betinia account
If the casino still appeals, a short routine keeps the risk in proportion:
- Check the MGA number in the footer against the Malta Gaming Authority's public register.
- Search the GRAI register for Maltix Limited before placing any sports bet; if it is not there, the sportsbook is not licensed for Ireland.
- Read the withdrawal section of the terms, including identity checks, before the first deposit rather than after the first win.
- Set a deposit limit at sign-up.
None of that takes long, and each step answers a question this review could not settle from the outside.
Betinia review verdict: is it legit?
The casino is properly licensed in Malta, which is as much as any casino serving Ireland can claim today. The sportsbook leans on a licence from the old Irish system, and that is a real weakness rather than a technicality, because the GRAI is the body that would hear a betting complaint now. Verdict: watch. We give no link while the betting side lacks a GRAI entry.
All of this applies to adults only, 18+. Deposit limits and other tools are worth setting on day one; our responsible gambling guide lists Irish support.
