Unibet Review: Sportsbook, Racing and Casino in Ireland

Unibet serves Irish customers through Platinum Gaming Limited, which holds a GRAI betting licence. A broad product range and a familiar payment list earn an each-way verdict; the casino runs outside the Irish licence.

Unibet: review

Irish Unibet accounts are held with Platinum Gaming Limited, a Gibraltar company with a GRAI remote betting licence valid from 11 September 2026 to 10 September 2029. That licence covers the Unibet sportsbook and racing; the casino, live casino, bingo and poker run on other licences, because Ireland issues no gaming licence yet.

We rate Unibet each-way: a wide, established product with a clean Irish licence, held back by details we could not confirm and a regulatory history in Britain worth knowing about.

The Unibet licence for Ireland

The footer of the Irish site names Platinum Gaming Limited and its GRAI licence for Republic of Ireland customers, and the official GRAI register, downloaded on 29 October 2026, agrees: Platinum Gaming Limited, Remote Betting, trading names 32Red and Unibet. The reference on our file: GRAI remote betting licence GRAI-0890-RB-26-0001 (Platinum Gaming Limited), valid 2026-09-11 to 2029-09-10.

Before July 2026 the same company held a Revenue remote bookmaker's licence, trading as Unibet and 32 Red. Customers outside Ireland are served under Gibraltar licences, which is why you will see Gibraltar references in the small print. For Irish accounts, the regulator with teeth is the GRAI, and our licensing guide explains what it can and cannot do.

Who is behind Unibet in Ireland

Platinum Gaming Limited is a Gibraltar company that also trades as 32Red, so the 32Red casino sits under the same corporate roof. Readers often ask about the Unibet group and Kindred; our research files hold no current source on the wider ownership chain, so we stick to what the Irish register shows. The name that matters for an Irish complaint is Platinum Gaming Limited.

One fact from the record belongs in any honest review. In 2023 the UK Gambling Commission fined 32Red Limited and Platinum Gaming GBP 7.1 million over failings in Britain. That is not an Irish finding, and it predates the GRAI licence, but a punter weighing up a bookmaker is entitled to know it.

Unibet betting and the sportsbook

The Irish homepage lists Sports and Racing as separate sections, alongside Casino, Live Casino, Bingo and Poker. Unibet's sportsbook is one of the broader ones on the Irish register, which is reflected in its form line, though we could not confirm market depth on GAA or the smaller rugby competitions.

For racing, the questions are the usual ones. Best odds concessions and their conditions could not be confirmed for Irish customers, so check the racing terms before assuming the starting price will top up your winnings. Each-way terms are set race by race. As a worked example: a EUR 5 each-way bet at 8/1 costs EUR 10. In an eight-runner non-handicap paying a fifth of the odds for three places, a horse that finishes second returns EUR 13 (the place part pays 8/5, so EUR 8 profit plus the EUR 5 stake), and the win half is lost. Win the race and both halves pay, for EUR 58 in total. Our each-way guide shows the standard terms.

Unibet casino, slots and live casino

The casino is listed on the Irish site, with slots and live tables beside it, and any free spins offer belongs to that side of the business. None of it is covered by the GRAI licence. Gaming licensing in Ireland is expected to start in early 2027; until then, a casino operated by a GRAI-licensed bookmaker runs under that operator's other licences, and Platinum Gaming's casino licence sits in Gibraltar. We could not confirm which licence Unibet names for Irish casino players, so a casino dispute has no obvious Irish route today.

Casino bonuses tend to carry wagering requirements, and the welcome package includes a casino element (see below). Treat that part as a separate product with separate rules.

Unibet poker and bingo

Poker and bingo both appear on the Irish homepage. Neither falls under the betting licence, and we hold no detail on the poker network, tournament schedule or bingo rooms for Irish accounts. If poker is your main reason for joining, read the poker terms on their own rather than assuming the sportsbook's protections carry over.

The Unibet welcome offer

The sign-up offer on our file, as seen on the Irish site on 29 October 2026: EUR 40 Money Back Offer on Your First Bet + EUR 10 Casino Bonus (new customers, min EUR 10 deposit, wagering applies) (as seen 2026-10-29). A money-back offer refunds a losing first bet, usually as a bonus or free bet rather than cash, so the conditions on how the refund is paid and how long you have to use it matter more than the headline figure. The casino portion comes with wagering. Our bonuses guide explains how to read both kinds.

The 2024 Act contains a ban on targeted inducements; we could not confirm by October 2026 that it had been switched on. Welcome offers may change shape when it is.

Payments at Unibet

The Irish site lists Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, PayPal and paysafecard. Since February 2026 Irish law bans credit cards for gambling, so Visa and Mastercard here mean debit cards. Minimum deposit on file: . Withdrawal time on file: . Where those read blank, we could not confirm a general figure; the minimum quoted with the welcome offer applies to that offer only.

Verification of identity and age comes before the first payout. Many sites send winnings back to the method you lodged with, which makes PayPal a tidy route where it is allowed, but withdrawal rules are the operator's to set, so read them in the cashier rather than assuming. Our PayPal guide covers the method across Irish bookmakers.

Unibet apps and live chat

We could not confirm Irish store listings for the Unibet apps, nor the hours and channels of live chat and other customer support. App links on file: . If those are empty, search the official stores directly and check that the seller name matches the operator; our betting apps page covers what to look for.

Safer gambling tools at Unibet

The responsible gaming page we tried returned an error, so the full tool list is unconfirmed. Section 164 of the 2024 Act, in force since February, entitles every customer of a licensee to set a monetary limit, so look for deposit limits in the account settings before the first bet. A single national exclusion register is planned but not yet operating. 18+ only, as with every Irish bookmaker; support services are listed on our responsible gambling page.

Where Unibet stands

Each-way. Unibet brings a broad sportsbook, racing, a familiar payment list including PayPal, and a GRAI licence held by a long-established company. Against that: no confirmed best odds terms, an unverified support and tools list, a casino that sits outside Irish regulation, and a British penalty on the record. It is a reasonable account to hold alongside a bookmaker with sharper racing terms.
