Crypto Casinos and Irish Players: The Honest Version
Nearly every crypto casino taking Irish players runs on a Curacao or Anjouan licence, with no Irish protection at all. We do not rank them. Here is why, and what to use instead if speed is the point.

A crypto casino is an online casino that takes deposits and pays withdrawals in Bitcoin, Ether, USDT and similar coins, and the ones open to Irish players almost all hold licences from Curacao or Anjouan. That is why Pick Our Team does not rank a single crypto casino: none of the casino brands we can recommend for Ireland lists cryptocurrency among the payment methods on our file, and the crypto casino brands we have checked give an Irish player no Irish licence and no Irish protection.
If what draws you to crypto is speed, there is a regulated answer, and the card below lists it: casinos under Malta, British or Gibraltar licences that pay out to e-wallets and open banking. None of those holds an Irish licence either, because the GRAI does not license casinos until early 2027, but each answers to a regulator with a public register and a complaints route.

What a crypto casino licence usually looks like
The table shows the licence position of crypto-led casinos that turn up in Irish searches. All are marked swerve on our reviews, and none gets a link from us to the operator.
| Brand | Licence, as found | Irish position |
|---|---|---|
| Metaspins | Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority, as stated on the site | No Irish licence, no Irish protection |
| Winz | Anjouan, plus a Tobique Gaming Commission licence | No Irish licence, no Irish protection |
| Sportsbet.io | Anjouan, per register data | No Irish licence, no Irish protection |
| Bets.io | Anjouan, per its licence seal | No Irish licence, no Irish protection |
| Mbit Casino | Curacao, per a review, not verified | No Irish licence, no Irish protection |
| Vave | Anjouan, no licence number published | No Irish licence, no Irish protection |
Our Metaspins review and Winz review set out the detail for two of them. The common thread is a licence from a regulator with little capacity to handle player complaints, a company registered far from Ireland, and terms that can be changed with short notice.
Best crypto casino: the question behind the question
People asking for the best crypto casino usually want one of three things: quick withdrawals, privacy, or bigger bonuses. Each has a cost.
- Quick withdrawals. A blockchain transfer is fast once sent. The casino still decides when to send it, and an offshore casino has nobody above it to make it hurry. A Malta-licensed casino paying to Skrill or Neteller is often just as quick, with a regulator behind it.
- Privacy. Every regulated casino must verify identity. A crypto casino that does not is choosing not to, and the price is that nobody checks who else is playing, including minors.
- Bigger bonuses. Crypto casino bonuses and free spins tend to carry heavy playthrough and loose terms. A big number with weak enforcement behind it is worth less than a small number that will be honoured.
No KYC crypto casinos
KYC stands for know your customer: identity, age and, for larger sums, source of funds. A no KYC crypto casino advertises that it skips those checks. In Ireland, GRAI licensees already work under the Verification of Identity and Age Regulations 2026, and every serious foreign regulator imposes similar checks. A casino with no checks at sign-up can still demand documents at withdrawal, and many do, which leaves the player with a balance and no regulator to appeal to. We do not list no KYC sites, and we would not call any of them safe.
What happens to your money if something goes wrong
With a card or e-wallet, a disputed payment can sometimes be challenged through the payment provider. A crypto transfer cannot be reversed by anyone. With a Malta or British casino, a complaint can go to the regulator or its approved dispute service. With an Anjouan or Curacao casino, the route is uncertain at best. And since February 2026 the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 lets the High Court order the blocking of unlicensed gambling services, their advertising and their payments, so an offshore site that works today may not open tomorrow. That is not a technical fault to work around; it is the law catching up.
Crypto betting sites and other searches
Crypto betting sites raise the same issue with an added twist: since 1 July 2026 any bookmaker taking bets from Irish customers needs a GRAI remote betting licence, and none of the crypto sportsbooks we have checked appears on the GRAI register. Our licensing page explains how to check the register yourself. Searches for Cryptologic casinos are usually after an older casino software name rather than coins; it is not a payment method and not something we rank.
For faster cash without the risk, start with our fast withdrawal casinos page, which sets out which methods pay quickest once a regulated casino approves the withdrawal.
Readers' questions
- Are crypto casinos legal in Ireland?
- No crypto casino holds an Irish licence, and no casino of any kind will until GRAI gaming licensing starts in early 2027. Crypto casinos open to Irish players usually hold Curacao or Anjouan licences, which give Irish players no Irish protection.
- Which crypto casino is the best for Irish players?
- We do not recommend any. The crypto-led brands we have checked sit on offshore licences and are marked swerve. Regulated casinos paying to e-wallets are the safer route to quick withdrawals.
- Can I get my crypto back if a casino refuses to pay?
- Rarely. Blockchain transfers cannot be reversed, and offshore regulators seldom act on player complaints. That risk is the main reason we leave crypto casinos out.
- Do any regulated casinos accept Bitcoin?
- None of the casinos we rank for Ireland lists Bitcoin or other coins among the payment methods we have on file. Those we could read are debit cards, e-wallets, vouchers and bank transfers.
