Playfina Review: Two Licence Numbers and No Irish Cover

Playfina is a Curacao casino whose licence number depends on which third-party page you read. It seems to accept Irish visitors, holds no Irish licence, and gets a swerve.

Playfina: review

Playfina is an offshore online casino said to be run by Dama N.V. under a Curacao licence, and Ireland does not appear among the restricted countries we could see in its terms. It holds no Irish licence, and this Playfina review explains why the desk's verdict is swerve.

The licence itself is the first puzzle. Third-party pages cite two different numbers for Playfina: OGL/2023/174/0082 and 365/JAZ. The two formats look like different generations of Curacao licensing. Which applies today, and whether Dama N.V. is still the holder, could not be confirmed, because the operator's terms page returned a 403 error.

Is Playfina legit?

A Curacao licence is a real document, and Dama N.V. is a real company name. For an Irish player, though, the useful question is narrower: what happens if something goes wrong? At Playfina, Irish law offers nothing. There are no Irish casino licences yet, since the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland expects to start gaming licensing in early 2027, and the casinos that deserve an Irish deposit meanwhile hold licences from Malta or Great Britain. Playfina holds neither. Our licensing explainer covers the timetable.

Playfina casino in Ireland: the restricted list

Snippets of the Playfina terms list restricted territories including the US, the UK, Ontario, New Brunswick, Belgium, Brazil, China, Japan and Russia. Ireland was not among the entries we saw. The same terms forbid customers from disguising their location to get past a geo-block. That clause cuts both ways: a player who breaks it risks having winnings voided, and a casino that relies on it has a ready reason to refuse a payout. Neither side of it is a place to be.

Playfina casino games and app

Playfina is a casino brand only; the file records no sportsbook and no racing. The game range, live casino and any app are not confirmed. Mobile play at an offshore casino usually means the browser site rather than a store app, and an installable file offered outside Google Play or the App Store is one to refuse. For how regulated sites handle play on a phone, see our mobile casinos page.

Playfina bonus and promo code

A bonus terms page exists on the Playfina site, but we could not read it in full, so no welcome offer, promo code or no deposit bonus is held: . Offshore bonus terms often carry high wagering and caps on what can be cashed out, and they are enforced by the operator alone. Read our bonus guide before taking anything that looks generous.

Playfina withdrawals

Payout times, limits and payment methods are not on our file. A withdrawal dispute at a Curacao casino goes, at best, to the Curacao regulator. No Irish body can hear it and no Irish regulator has power over the operator.

The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 gives the GRAI strong powers, including fines of up to EUR 20 million or 10% of turnover, whichever is greater, but those powers bite on licensees and on unlicensed operators through the courts. They do not give an individual player at an offshore casino a route to recover a balance. A Malta or UK licensee, by contrast, answers to a regulator with a complaints process that a player can use directly.

Playfina sister sites

Sister brands of Playfina are not listed on our file, since the operator itself is unconfirmed. Our sister sites page sticks to confirmed groups.

Playfina: where we land

Swerve. Two candidate licence numbers and an operator named only by third parties are no footing for anyone's money. This is an 18+ activity; if it is costing more than you planned, free help is listed on our responsible gambling page.

Readers' questions

Who owns Playfina?
Third-party pages name Dama N.V. The operator's own terms could not be read, so this is reported rather than confirmed.
Does Playfina accept Irish players?
Ireland was not on the restricted list we saw. Playfina has no Irish licence, so Irish players would have no Irish protection.
What is the Playfina licence number?
Third-party pages give either OGL/2023/174/0082 or 365/JAZ, both Curacao. Neither was confirmed on the operator's own pages.
