Visa Casino Sites and Debit Card Deposits in Ireland
A Visa or Mastercard debit card works at almost every casino and bookmaker that serves Ireland. A credit card does not, at least not with a licensed operator, and that rule is now law.

A Visa casino, in Irish practice, means a site that takes a Visa or Mastercard debit card: the most widely accepted way to deposit, and the default route for payouts. Credit cards are a different matter, because section 165 of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 has banned credit cards and other credit for gambling with licensed operators since 5 February 2026.
Among casino brands in our files, Lucky Pants Bingo lists Visa debit and Mastercard, MegaRush lists Visa and Mastercard, Maxiplay shows Visa, and Butlers Bingo takes debit cards. No casino among them is licensed in Ireland; gaming licensing by the GRAI is expected in early 2027.

Best Visa casino and Mastercard casino options
| Brand | Cards listed | Regulator |
|---|---|---|
| Lucky Pants Bingo | Visa debit, Mastercard | Gibraltar Gambling Commission |
| MegaRush | Visa, Mastercard | Malta Gaming Authority |
| Maxiplay | Visa | Malta Gaming Authority; UKGC for Britain |
| Butlers Bingo | Debit card | UK Gambling Commission |
Maxiplay is a ProgressPlay Limited site with casino, slots and a sportsbook; its terms do not list Ireland among restricted territories, but its payment list beyond a Visa logo could not be confirmed. Butlers Bingo works in sterling, so a euro card will be converted. Both carry watch verdicts. MegaRush publishes payout times of E-wallets same day; cards 1-3 banking days; bank transfer 1-7 banking days; see the Maxiplay review and the Butlers Bingo review for the rest.
Debit cards at GRAI-licensed bookmakers
Every big Irish-licensed bookmaker in our files takes debit cards. bet365 lists Visa, Mastercard and Maestro; Unibet and Bet Master list the same three; Ladbrokes lists Visa and Mastercard; BoyleSports, Paddy Power, Betway and William Hill list debit cards. William Hill publishes Visa Direct about 4 hours; other debit cards 1-3 working days; Pay By Bank immediate to 1 working day, which shows how much the card scheme matters to a payout. Maestro, still named by some, is a brand Mastercard has been phasing out in Europe, and most Irish banks now issue Visa or Mastercard debit cards instead.
Online casino credit card searches: the Irish answer
People still search for the best credit card casino. Under section 165, a GRAI licensee may not accept a credit card or offer any other credit facility for gambling. The rule covers a credit card saved in Apple Pay or Google Pay and a credit card used to fund an e-wallet. Foreign casinos are not licensed under the Act, but a casino that welcomes credit cards from an Irish address is behaving as though the rule did not exist. Britain banned credit card gambling in 2020; Ireland now has its own ban in statute.
Fast card payouts: Visa Direct and Mastercard Send
Card withdrawals used to mean three to five working days. Push-to-card services, Visa Direct on the Visa side and Mastercard Send on the other, let an operator pay a debit card in hours where both the operator's processor and the card issuer support it. William Hill's published times name Visa Direct for exactly that reason. Whether your payout goes that way depends on the operator, its payment processor and your bank, not on anything you choose in the cashier. If speed matters, check the operator's withdrawal page for the scheme it uses, then remember that the pending period and identity checks still come first.
Prepaid Visa and Mastercard
Readers also ask about casinos that accept prepaid Visa or prepaid Mastercard cards. Some operators take them for deposits and refuse them for payouts, because a prepaid card may not be in a verified name or able to receive funds. Others refuse them altogether. Ask the operator how a prepaid card is paid out before depositing, not after a win. If you want a prepaid limit on spend, a paysafecard voucher is more widely listed in our files; if you want winnings paid, a debit card on a current account in your name is the reliable route.
Card deposits and payouts, in order
- Register with the same name and address your bank holds. Mismatches cause most card payout delays.
- Enter the card in the cashier. Expect a 3-D Secure check in your banking app.
- Deposit. The minimum is the operator's; low-deposit searches, including one-euro Visa casinos, rarely survive a look at the cashier.
- Withdraw to the same card. Some card schemes pay within hours, others take working days, after the operator's own pending period.
Our page on low deposit casinos covers minimums in more depth.
Debit card gambling is restricted to adults: 18+ everywhere on this page. A saved card is the easiest deposit to repeat, so set a limit first and keep our safer gambling page handy.
