Apple Pay Casinos: Depositing From an iPhone in Ireland

Apple Pay is a debit card with a fingerprint on it: quick, private, and only as good as the card inside. Payouts go back to that card, not to the wallet.

18+ only. Gambling can become a problem. Set a limit before you start. Help and support

Apple Pay

An Apple Pay casino lets you deposit with a card stored in Apple Wallet, approved with Face ID or Touch ID, without typing the card number into the site. In our files the casino brands that list Apple Pay are Lucky Pants Bingo and Butlers Bingo, while six bookmakers with a GRAI betting licence list it: bet365, BoyleSports, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Sky Bet and William Hill.

Apple Pay is a way of presenting a card, not a separate pot of money. Everything that applies to the card applies to the deposit, including the Irish ban on gambling with credit.

Form reads licence, markets, payments, safer-play tools, terms; 1 is best. How we rate. 18+ only.

The first two names on the card list Apple Pay in their own payment details. 32Red Casino, Kwiff Casino and Quinn Casino are there on licence and company strength; their cashiers could not be read, so confirm Apple Pay at the deposit screen. None of the five holds an Irish casino licence, since the GRAI will not license gaming before early 2027.

The casinos that accept Apple Pay in our files

Lucky Pants Bingo lists Apple Pay alongside Visa debit, Mastercard, PayPal, paysafecard and Trustly. Its operator, Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) Ltd, is licensed in Gibraltar, and its terms name the Republic of Ireland as a market it serves. That foreign licence is what protects an Irish player there.

Butlers Bingo has Apple Pay switched on in its site and is run by Broadway Gaming under the UK Gambling Commission, account 39075, with a Dublin head office on the register. Its terms work in sterling and refer only to undefined permitted territories, so Irish acceptance is likely rather than stated. Read our Butlers Bingo review before signing up, and expect currency conversion on a euro card.

Apple Pay casino deposit, step by step

  1. Open the casino in Safari or in its iOS app. Apple Pay buttons do not appear in every browser.
  2. Pick Apple Pay in the cashier and enter the amount; the minimum is the operator's.
  3. Check which card Wallet has chosen, then confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or the passcode.
  4. The deposit lands at once. The site receives a token, not your card number.

Step three matters more than it looks. Wallet uses your default card unless you change it. If that default is a credit card, a GRAI-licensed bookmaker should refuse the payment under section 165 of the 2024 Act, and a well-run casino will too.

Where Apple Pay winnings go

There is no Apple Pay balance for a casino to pay into. A withdrawal usually goes back to the debit card behind the Apple Pay token, or by bank transfer if the operator prefers. That means the payout speed is the card's speed: some Irish debit cards take fast card payouts within hours, others take a few working days. The operator's pending time comes first, and so do identity checks on a first withdrawal. Our guide to debit card casinos covers card payouts in detail.

Apple Pay slots on a phone: the practical points

Most searches for Apple Pay slots are really about playing on an iPhone. A few points before you do:

  • Apps from Irish-licensed bookmakers are in the App Store; casino-only brands are often browser-only, which is fine for Apple Pay in Safari.
  • Deposits through Apple Pay take seconds, which is convenient and also the problem. Set a deposit limit in the account first.
  • Screen Time on the iPhone can limit time in an app; it does not limit spend.

Bank blocks and Apple Pay

Some players ask their bank or card provider to refuse gambling payments. That block follows the card into Wallet. The merchant behind an Apple Pay payment is still identified as a gambling business, so a blocked card is declined whether you tap, type or use Face ID. This is a feature, not a fault, and the right response to a declined deposit after setting a block is to leave it in place. Where a bank builds a delay into lifting a block, the delay is the point.

Apple Pay at offshore sites

An Apple Pay logo on a Curacao-licensed casino proves only that a payment processor somewhere accepted the merchant. It says nothing about who will hear a complaint. Offshore casinos hold no Irish licence, Irish law gives their customers no protection, and they get no place on our cards.

Gambling sites are 18+ only. A one-touch deposit is easy to repeat, so decide the month's budget before the phone is in your hand; our responsible gambling page lists the tools and Irish helplines.

Readers' questions

Which casinos accept Apple Pay in Ireland?
In our files Lucky Pants Bingo and Butlers Bingo list Apple Pay for casino play, both under foreign licences. Among GRAI-licensed bookmakers, bet365, BoyleSports, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Sky Bet and William Hill list it.
Can I withdraw casino winnings to Apple Pay?
Not to a wallet balance, because Apple Pay has none for this purpose. Payouts normally go to the debit card behind the Apple Pay token or by bank transfer.
Why was my Apple Pay casino deposit declined?
Common causes are a credit card set as the default in Wallet, which licensed operators must refuse, a bank block on gambling payments, or a deposit limit already reached.
Is Apple Pay safer than typing my card number?
It keeps the card number away from the site, which helps with data security. It does not make the casino itself any safer: that depends on its licence.
