BoyleSports Review: The Dundalk Bookie and Its Irish Licence

BoyleSports holds a GRAI betting licence through its Gibraltar company and pays best odds on UK and Irish racing. The casino sits outside that licence, and a British fine belongs in the file.

BoyleSports: review

This BoyleSports review starts with the answer most punters want: the firm is licensed in Ireland for betting. The GRAI register lists Boylesports (Gibraltar) Limited, trading as BOYLE Sports, as a remote betting licensee from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029. That puts the Dundalk firm among the bookies an Irish punter can use with an Irish regulator standing behind the account, though the licence stops at the sportsbook.

The firm also runs betting shops, which explains one unusual feature of the online account: it can be funded with cash over a shop counter. The weak points are elsewhere, in the casino's paperwork and a fine from the British regulator.

BoyleSports Ireland: the company on the register

The brand belongs to the BoyleSports group, whose head office is in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The online book is run through a Gibraltar company, and that is the name on the Irish register: GRAI remote betting licence GRAI-0852-RB-26-0001 (Boylesports (Gibraltar) Limited), valid 2026-07-01 to 2029-06-30. People searching for BoyleSports Ltd usually mean this entity, and it is the one a complaint to the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland would name.

Until the end of June 2026 the same company traded under a Revenue remote bookmaker's licence. Revenue no longer issues those; the GRAI took over betting licensing and opened its own register on 1 July. The operator still pays Revenue the 2% betting duty on turnover, and the customer pays no tax on winnings. Our guide to Irish gambling licences explains how to read a register entry.

Where the licence stops

The GRAI licence covers remote betting and nothing else. Ireland has no gaming licence at all yet: the authority expects to begin licensing casinos, slots and bingo in early 2027. BoyleSports casino, BoyleSports games and the live casino therefore do not run under Irish law, and our research did not establish which foreign licence covers them for Irish accounts. Treat the games side as a separate product until the operator's terms say plainly who regulates it.

Is BoyleSports legit? The British fine

Legitimate, yes: it is on the Irish register and on the register of the Gambling Commission in Great Britain, which lists BoyleSports with its head office in Dundalk. Spotless, no. The Irish Times has reported a 2.8 million sterling penalty imposed by the British regulator over anti-money-laundering failings. The penalty was a British matter, not an Irish one, but a regulator finding fault with money-laundering controls belongs in any review, and it weighs on the verdict below.

Horse racing and the dogs

Racing sits at the centre of the online book. According to the BoyleSports support centre, best odds apply on UK and Irish horse racing: take a fixed price, and if the starting price comes back bigger, a winning bet is settled at the SP. Which races qualify and from what time on the day are set out in those help pages, and they are worth reading once. Our page on bookies paying BOG puts the licensed firms side by side.

A worked example. EUR 10 to win on a 7/2 shot; the horse wins and the SP is 5/1. At the price taken the return is EUR 45, which is 35 profit plus the stake. With BOG the bet is settled at 5/1 for EUR 60. Had the SP shortened to 3/1, the 7/2 stands and the return stays at EUR 45. A loser is a loser either way.

The firm's name also hangs over the Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park, run over 550 yards and usually decided in September. That tells you where its loyalties lie; it tells you nothing about the prices on a wet Tuesday at Mullingar. As for BoyleSports results today: official results and starting prices come from the track, and our racing results page carries the day's feed without a bet slip attached.

BoyleSports GAA, golf and the wider sports book

After racing, golf and the GAA are what most Irish customers come to BoyleSports for. The operator's market pages blocked our research fetches, so we do not count markets or quote margins. What holds across licensed bookies: the four men's majors and the Irish Open, at Doonbeg in 2026, carry the deepest golf books, and outright golf bets are usually struck each-way with place terms the bookmaker sets. The number of places paid can matter as much as the price.

On the GAA, match betting is often three-way because draws happen, and handicap lines give one side a start in points. Since January 2026 a football score kicked from on or outside the 40m arc counts two points, which has pushed totals lines up and made old scorelines a poor guide. How extra time is settled varies between firms; BoyleSports' own betting rules decide it for its customers.

Paying in and drawing out

The BoyleSports help centre lists debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, paysafecard and bank transfer, and customers can also put cash on an account over the counter in a BoyleSports shop. That last option is rare among online books and useful for anyone who would rather not link a card. The minimum deposit is EUR 5. Credit cards are refused, as they must be: section 165 of the 2024 Act has barred credit for gambling since February 2026.

Withdrawals follow a closed-loop policy. Money goes back to the method that paid it in where that method can take a payout, so a card deposit returns to the card and a PayPal deposit to PayPal. The stated payout time is ; if that is blank, we had no confirmed figure.

App, bonuses and promo codes

The sportsbook app is listed on the Irish App Store and on Google Play, and our BoyleSports app page covers what it does and what the casino app searches are really about. On offers, the current new-customer deal, if one is live, reads: . App store listings have described an Irish welcome offer, but it was not on the operator's own site when we checked its pages, so we do not repeat it. We found no confirmed no deposit bonus, free spins deal, casino welcome offer or bingo bonus. The BoyleSports promo code page explains how to read a code when one appears.

BoyleSports sister sites are a recurring question. Our research found no other brand sharing the licence: the register shows the Gibraltar company under the single trading name BOYLE Sports.

Limits and self-exclusion at BoyleSports

Section 164 of the Act obliges every licensee to let customers set money limits on remote gambling, and that applies here. A self-exclusion taken here covers BoyleSports alone: the Act's national exclusion register, which will bar a person from every licensed bookie in one step, had not opened by October 2026. Accounts are for over-18s only. Our safer gambling page has Irish support contacts.

BoyleSports review verdict: each-way

BoyleSports gets an each-way verdict. The licence is the right one, the payment list is about as broad as an Irish bookie offers, shop cash included, and BOG on UK and Irish racing is set down in the help pages. Against it: we could not confirm who licenses the casino, the welcome offer could not be pinned to the official site, and the British fine counts. Its form line is weakest on terms clarity. A sound account for racing and GAA punters who read the rules before the first bet. 18+.
