Coral Review: An Entain Bookmaker Under a GRAI Licence

A British racing name licensed by the GRAI through ElectraWorks, with best odds on UK and Irish racing. Payments, offers and the casino licence are harder to pin down than the brand suggests.

Coral: review

Coral is an Entain bookmaker that takes Irish customers under a GRAI remote betting licence held by ElectraWorks Limited, number GRAI-0652-RB-26-0001, valid from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029. It is a racing-first British high-street name with best odds on UK and Irish racing, a thinner Irish profile than its sister brand Ladbrokes, and a casino that the Irish licence does not reach.

A word for anyone who arrived by way of the reef: this page is about Coral the bookmaker. Bleached coral, brain coral, polyps, the Coral Triangle and the fish that live there belong to marine biologists, and we leave them to it.

Coral's licence, and the change of holder

Every online bookmaker serving Ireland has needed a GRAI remote betting licence since 1 July 2026. The Coral entry on the register sits under ElectraWorks Limited, a company whose licence also lists Sportingbet, Bwin and the sports sides of PartyCasino and PartyPoker as trading names. The reference also appears in the form box: GRAI remote betting licence GRAI-0652-RB-26-0001 (ElectraWorks Limited), valid 2026-07-01 to 2029-06-30.

That is a change. On Revenue's legacy list of remote bookmakers, valid to 30 June 2026, the Coral website was covered by LC International Limited's Revenue licence, the same one that covered Ladbrokes. Since July the two Entain brands answer to the same Irish regulator through different licensees. For a punter it matters only when something goes wrong: a complaint about a Coral bet names ElectraWorks, not the Ladbrokes company. Our licensing guide explains how the register works and what a GRAI licence does and does not cover.

Ladbrokes Coral: one owner, two bookmakers

People still search for Ladbrokes Coral as if it were a single firm. Both brands belong to Entain, and they share a good deal of technology, but they run separate websites, separate promotions and, as above, separate Irish licence holders. An account with one is not an account with the other. If you want to compare them directly, our Ladbrokes review covers the larger of the two from an Irish angle; it has an Irish Lotto betting page and a payments list we could source, which Coral does not.

Coral horse racing: what the app listing says

Coral bookmakers horse racing is the brand's oldest trade, and racing is where its Irish case rests. The Irish App Store listing for the sports app, published by Entain, describes the welcome offer as open to new UK and ROI customers and states best odds on qualifying UK and Irish racing. The word "qualifying" carries weight: which races count, the cut-off time and any payout ceiling are in the operator's terms, and the listing does not reproduce them.

Rule 4, worked through

Rule 4 is the deduction UK and Irish racing applies when a runner is withdrawn too late for a new market to be formed; check how Coral words it in its racing rules. The deduction comes off winnings, not stake, and depends on the withdrawn horse's price. An example: EUR 20 on a 7/2 winner, with a 2/1 shot pulled out at the start. A 2/1 withdrawal falls in the 30p band, so the EUR 70 of winnings loses 30% and becomes EUR 49. The return is EUR 69 rather than EUR 90. Had the withdrawn horse been 16/1, there would be no deduction at all. Our each-way guide covers place terms, which Rule 4 also touches.

Greyhound results and the Coral name

Searches for Coral greyhound results and Coral greyhound stadium come in from Ireland as well. None of the fifteen stadiums listed by Greyhound Racing Ireland carries the Coral name; the Irish tracks run from Shelbourne Park in Ringsend and Curraheen Park in Cork to Lifford and Thurles. Results are declared at the stadium, and GRI runs the tote. Our greyhounds page covers the Irish tracks and the feed.

Place terms for greyhound each-way bets are often described as similar to horse racing, but they are set by each bookmaker; read Coral's own rules before an each-way bet on a six-dog race.

Golf, football and the rest of the book

Coral golf betting draws only a trickle of Irish searches, and Coral online betting beyond racing is not where the brand makes its name here. The sportsbook covers football, rugby, GAA and golf in the usual way. Coral's own website refused our research fetches, so we publish no market counts or margins for it. Readers who mainly bet on Gaelic games or the URC will find the comparison more useful on our betting desk, where Irish-facing firms are ranked on breadth.

Coral sign up offers and bonus codes

The App Store listing says the new-customer offer applies to UK and Republic of Ireland customers; we could not read the offer itself from the operator, and third-party copies are not a source we use for amounts. If a current offer and code are on record, they show here: . Blank means we had nothing confirmed on 29 October 2026.

Codes printed on coupon pages go stale quickly and are sometimes for British customers only. The terms that bind you are the ones on Coral's site at the moment you register. Minimum odds, the expiry of any free bet, and whether e-wallet deposits qualify are the three lines worth finding before you deposit.

Coral casino and slots: no Irish licence for gaming

The Coral casino welcome offer and Coral casino reviews are popular searches, but no online casino holds an Irish licence: the GRAI expects to begin licensing gaming in early 2027. The ElectraWorks licence on the GRAI register is a remote betting licence and stops at the sportsbook. Coral's casino, slots and bingo run under the operator's other licences; which one applies to Irish customers we could not confirm from the operator.

A separate Coral Casino app sits on the Irish App Store and points users to an Irish problem gambling service, which suggests Irish customers are expected. It does not change the legal position: there is no Irish regulator to hear a complaint about a slot. Coral bingo has its own Coral Bingo review.

Payments, limits and tools

We found no first-party list of payment methods for Irish Coral accounts, so we name none. Two points hold regardless: the 2024 Act's ban on gambling with credit applies to Coral as to every licensee, and licensees must let customers set monetary limits on remote gambling, so a deposit limit is available on any Coral account. Minimum deposit and withdrawal times are not confirmed; the form box shows them if the operator publishes them.

The Act also provides for a National Gambling Exclusion Register covering all licensees at once. It was not running in October 2026, so self-exclusion is still done one bookmaker at a time; excluding from Coral does not exclude you from Ladbrokes.

Verdict on Coral

Each-way. Coral has the licence an Irish bettor should insist on and a credible racing book with best odds on UK and Irish racing. Its form line is held back by what we could not see: payments, tools and the full offer terms were not available from the operator, and the casino side has no Irish cover. For racing it is a reasonable second account. For anything else, compare first.

Coral is for adults only, 18+. Keep stakes to what you would spend on a night out, and see our responsible gambling page for Extern and other Irish support.
