Puntit Review: An Irish-Facing Bookmaker Missing From the GRAI Register

Puntit held a Revenue licence until the old regime closed at the end of June 2026. It is not on the GRAI register in late October, so for now the verdict is swerve.

Puntit: review

Puntit has no current Irish licence. It held a Revenue remote bookmaker's licence until the old regime ended on 30 June 2026, but on 29 October 2026 its name is not on the register of the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, and that single fact decides this Puntit review: swerve, and no link.

The brand still draws thousands of Irish searches a month. Below we set out what is on the record, what is only reported, and what an unlisted status means for anyone with money in an account. Adults only, 18+.

The Revenue licence and the 1 July switch

Until this summer an online bookmaker taking bets from people in the State held a remote bookmaker's licence from Revenue. Revenue's list of licensed remote bookmaking operations at 30 June 2026 includes licence 1022285, held by Play Well Media Ltd of Sliema, Malta, with Puntit's Irish-facing website as the trading name. That entry is genuine, and it explains why many punters took Puntit for a local firm.

On 1 July 2026 the ground moved. Remote betting licences now come from the GRAI under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, and Revenue states that it no longer issues the remote bookmaker's licence. A firm that wanted to keep serving Irish customers had to get onto the new register. Bet365, BoyleSports, Paddy Power and most of the familiar names are there. Neither Puntit nor Play Well Media Ltd appears.

We do not know whether an application is pending, was refused or was never made, and we will not guess. The consequence for a customer is simpler: a bet struck with an unlisted operator today is not a bet struck with a licensee of the Irish regulator. Our guide to Irish licensing shows how to check the register for yourself.

Puntit in Ireland: what the missing licence means for your account

A GRAI licence is not decoration. A licensee answers to a regulator that can investigate complaints and impose fines of up to EUR 20 million or 10% of turnover. It must let customers set monetary limits on remote gambling, and it may not accept credit cards. None of that reaches a Puntit customer through Irish law while the brand is off the register. A dispute over a voided bet or a slow payout would go to whichever foreign regulator stands behind the operator, if any does.

If you still hold a balance, the sensible course is dull and effective. Request a withdrawal of the full amount to the method you deposited with, keep screenshots of your account history and transaction references, and save every email. Then take your betting to a bookmaker that is on the register.

Is Puntit legit?

It depends what the word is asked to carry. Puntit is a real brand with a real Irish licensing history; that much is on Revenue's record. Whether it is a legitimate place for an Irish punter to bet in October 2026 is a narrower question, and the answer is no while it holds no GRAI licence. We have no evidence of misconduct and make no allegation. The objection is to status, not to character.

Puntit casino and the Curacao report

An affiliate review published in August 2026 says the casino side runs under a Curacao licence held by White Star B.V. The operator's own pages returned an error when our editors checked them, so that detail is reported, not established. Even if accurate it would change little. Nobody holds an Irish online casino licence, because the GRAI does not expect to begin licensing gaming until early 2027. Until then every casino serving Ireland works under a foreign licence, and Curacao sits at the lighter end of the range, well behind Malta and Great Britain for published complaint routes.

Bonus, promo code, free spins and no deposit offers

We have no verified Puntit welcome offer, promo code, free spins deal or no deposit bonus to report. The operator's pages could not be read, and we do not lift offer wording from other review sites, where it goes stale within weeks. If the operator supplies one it will show here: . A blank space means nothing verified.

A wider point on offers. The 2024 Act contains a ban on targeted inducements, and free bets and bonuses fall within its definition, but that section was still awaiting commencement in October 2026. When it arrives it will bind licensees. An operator outside the register sits outside that rule too, which cuts both ways: nobody restricts what it offers, and nobody in Ireland holds it to the terms. Offers from brands we can verify are on the bonuses desk.

Puntit app and mobile betting

The same affiliate review says Puntit offers an iOS app and nothing on Android. We could not confirm either from an operator-linked store listing, so the form box shows neither. An app does not alter the licence picture: it is a front end to the same account, run by the same operator, with the same missing GRAI entry. The Puntit app page covers what to check before installing any betting app.

Withdrawals and payment methods

Third-party copy lists Visa Debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and bank transfer, plus best odds guaranteed on British and Irish racing. None of it was confirmed from the operator, and no withdrawal time was published anywhere we could read: . With an unlisted operator the question that matters is not how fast money lands but who you turn to if it does not arrive. Here, not an Irish regulator.

Identity checks before a first payout are normal and no cause for alarm. Repeated requests for the same document, or silence after a request, are worth logging with dates. The complaint route then runs through the operator's own process and any foreign regulator named in its terms.

Puntit sister sites

No sister site is confirmed. Revenue's old list shows Play Well Media Ltd trading under the Puntit name alone, and claims linking the brand to other companies come from affiliate copy rather than the operator. A shared software supplier would not make two brands sisters in any sense that helps a punter. Brands that genuinely share an owner and a licence are set out in our sister sites guide.

Racing, sport and the verdict

Puntit trades as a sportsbook with racing on the card, and best odds guaranteed, which third-party copy credits to it, is a fine concession from a licensed firm. From an unlisted one it is a pricing promise with no Irish regulator behind it. The GRAI register already holds plenty of bookmakers that offer the same thing.

So: swerve, for now. This is a judgement on present status, not on past conduct. On 29 October 2026 Puntit holds no licence from the Irish regulator, and its customers have none of the protections a licensee must provide. The form line marks it down on licence accordingly. Should the brand appear on the register, we will re-rate it and say so on this page.

Betting is for over-18s only. If it has stopped being a pastime, our safer gambling page lists Irish support, Gamblers Anonymous Ireland among it.

Readers' questions

Is Puntit licensed in Ireland?
Not as of 29 October 2026. It held Revenue remote bookmaker's licence 1022285 until the old regime ended on 30 June 2026, but it does not appear on the GRAI register, which is now the only Irish licence for online betting.
Can I still withdraw my Puntit balance?
You can ask, and you should. Request the full balance to your deposit method and keep the references. If payment does not arrive, no Irish regulator can take the complaint; the route is the operator's own process and any foreign regulator it names.
Who runs Puntit?
Revenue's register named Play Well Media Ltd of Sliema, Malta, as the holder of the licence the brand held from Revenue until June 2026. The casino is reported to run under a Curacao licence held by White Star B.V., which could not be confirmed from the operator.
Is there a Puntit promo code?
None verified. Codes posted on forums and coupon pages are not checked against the operator's terms, and with no Irish licence behind the brand there is nobody in Ireland to enforce an offer's terms.
