High Roller Casinos: Limits, VIP Schemes and Who Holds the Money
For a high roller casino the size of the bonus matters least. Withdrawal caps, the regulator and the company holding your balance matter most, and VIP schemes deserve a sceptical read.

18+ only. Gambling can become a problem. Set a limit before you start. Help and support

A high roller casino worth the name lets you stake large sums and, more to the point, withdraw large sums without months of weekly instalments. For Irish players that means a casino under a strong foreign licence, because no casino is licensed in Ireland until the GRAI begins gaming licensing in early 2027, and a big balance is only as safe as the company and regulator standing behind it.
We rank the brands below on licence and terms. We do not rank them on VIP perks, because those are discretionary, rarely published in full and, as the British regulator has shown more than once, the part of the business most likely to go wrong.

The brands on the high roller casino card
32Red Casino leads because its operator, Platinum Gaming Limited, holds a GRAI remote betting licence for 32Red and Unibet. That licence covers betting, not the casino, which runs under Gibraltar licences. The record is not spotless: the UK Gambling Commission fined 32Red Limited and Platinum Gaming GBP 7.1 million in 2023. We note it because a high roller should know a group's history before handing it a five-figure balance.
Karamba Casino is run by Aspire Global International Ltd, which held a legacy Revenue betting licence; its casino runs under Malta and British licences, according to its own Irish casino page. It is not on the GRAI register. LeoVegas, operated by LeoVegas Gaming P.L.C. in Malta, runs a dedicated Irish site under a Malta Gaming Authority licence and also appeared on the old Revenue register for betting; it is not on the GRAI register either. Mr Vegas is a Videoslots brand under Malta and British licences, and Grand Ivy a White Hat Gaming brand under Malta, British and Swedish licences, both per review sources rather than registers we could read.
Withdrawal caps: the high roller's real limit
Most casino terms carry a maximum withdrawal per day, week or month, sometimes with an exemption for progressive jackpots. For a casual player the cap never bites. For a high roller it decides how long a win takes to reach the bank. Take a purely illustrative cap of EUR 5,000 a week and a EUR 30,000 win: the balance comes out over six weeks, and sits with the casino the whole time. If the casino failed in week three, the remaining EUR 15,000 would be a creditor's claim, not cash.
So before staking big, find these three things in the terms:
- The withdrawal cap and its period, and whether VIP status raises it.
- Whether player funds are held separately from company funds, and how the casino describes that protection.
- When source-of-funds checks are triggered. Large deposits and withdrawals usually set them off; having payslips or bank statements ready saves days.
VIP casino bonus schemes, read sceptically
VIP schemes run on invitation, points or a host's discretion. Their rewards, from higher limits to cashback and gifts, are mostly unpublished, and they are aimed squarely at the heaviest losers. British enforcement cases against large operators have repeatedly involved VIP customers who were encouraged to keep gambling without proper checks. A high roller casino bonus is therefore the least important line in this review. If a host starts calling more often after a losing run, that is a signal to step back.
Ireland's own rules point the same way. The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 lets the GRAI cap the amount a customer lodges with a licensee and requires licensees to let customers set monetary limits; both are in force for GRAI licensees now and will reach casinos when gaming licences start. The Act's restrictions on targeted inducements, the stuff of VIP schemes, are written in but not yet commenced.
High roller slots, roulette and poker
Table limits vary by game and provider. High roller roulette and blackjack tables in live casinos carry far higher maximum bets than standard tables, and our roulette guide explains why the single-zero wheel is the one to sit at. For high roller slots, the maximum stake per spin is set by the game, and the published return to player matters more at big stakes, not less: a gap of two percentage points on EUR 50,000 of turnover is EUR 1,000 of expected cost. The high RTP slots page lists games with published figures. High roller poker is a different market, played against other players with the house taking a rake; see our poker page.
Searches for VIP casino apps and named VIP brands
Several brands use "VIP" in their names. A name is marketing, not a status, and some VIP-named casinos seen in Irish searches are offshore and outside our coverage. Judge them like any other site: licence in the footer, company on the regulator's register, Ireland absent from the restricted list. A high roller casino app is simply the casino's app with higher limits; the licence questions do not change.
Readers' questions
- What makes a casino good for high rollers?
- High withdrawal caps, clear terms on large wins, a strong regulator and a company with a clean record. Bonus size and VIP gifts come well down the list.
- Does VIP status raise the withdrawal cap?
- Sometimes. Some casinos lift the cap for VIP accounts, but the change is usually discretionary. Ask for any higher limit in writing and check the terms before staking large sums.
- Is a VIP scheme worth joining?
- Treat it with caution. The rewards are discretionary and aimed at heavy losers, and regulators abroad have fined operators over how they handled VIP customers.
- Why does a casino ask for bank statements after a big deposit?
- Source-of-funds checks are a licence condition for larger sums. They protect against money laundering and problem gambling, and they are a normal sign of a regulated operator.
