Live tables

Live Casino Sites: Live Dealer Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat

A live casino streams a real dealer and a real table from a studio to your screen. The game is genuine; the house edge is the same as ever, and the pace is faster than it looks.

Live casino

A live casino is the part of an online casino where a human dealer runs roulette, blackjack, baccarat or a game show on camera, and you place bets through an on-screen layout. Five brands open to Irish players list a live casino in the data we hold, and all five run under foreign licences: no live casino, like no online casino of any kind, is licensed in Ireland until the GRAI begins gaming licensing in early 2027.

The card ranks them on licence, terms and the strength of the company behind them. The games themselves usually come from the same handful of studio providers, so the table you sit at may look identical across several brands.

The live casino brands, one by one

  • Karamba Casino (Aspire Global International Ltd) runs a dedicated Irish live casino page, with the casino under Malta and British licences per the operator. Its operator held a legacy Revenue betting licence and is not on the GRAI register.
  • Lucky Pants Bingo (Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) Ltd) includes live casino alongside bingo, slots and Slingo, under the Gibraltar Gambling Commission.
  • Midnite Casino (Midnite Europe Limited, Malta) lists live dealer games on its home page. The company holds a GRAI remote betting licence, which covers betting, not the casino; the Irish casino offer itself was not confirmed.
  • Megarush lists live casino among its games, under the Malta Gaming Authority, with a published set of limits and time-out tools.
  • Betnflix (L.C.S Limited, Malta) offers casino, live casino and sports under a Malta Gaming Authority licence; Ireland is not on its excluded territories list.

How live dealer games work

The dealer sits in a studio with real cards, a real wheel or a real shoe. Cameras stream the table; software reads the result, from the card or the ball's pocket, and settles bets automatically. You see a betting window with a countdown, place chips on the virtual layout, and watch the round. Chat boxes let you talk to the dealer; the dealer does not see you.

Because results come from physical equipment, live games are not driven by a random number generator in the way slots are, though the studio is audited under the licence. What does not change is the maths: the house edge on live roulette is the same as on the digital version of the same game.

Live casino roulette, blackjack and baccarat: the numbers

Game Key number Worth knowing
European roulette House edge 2.70% (1 zero in 37 pockets) Choose it over American roulette, where two zeros in 38 pockets give 5.26%.
Live dealer blackjack Low edge with correct play Rules vary by table: number of decks, dealer action on soft 17, payout for blackjack. Read the table's help screen.
Live baccarat Banker bet carries a commission Still the lowest-edge bet on the table; the tie bet is the costliest.
Game shows Varies by show Built for entertainment; check the published return in the game rules.

A worked example on roulette. Over 100 spins at EUR 5 a spin, EUR 500 is staked. At a 2.70% edge, the expected cost is EUR 13.50. On a double-zero wheel at 5.26%, it is EUR 26.30. Same stakes, nearly twice the expected cost. Our roulette guide and blackjack guide go further into the rules, and game shows have a page of their own.

Table limits and seats

Every live table shows a minimum and maximum bet. Roulette and baccarat tables take unlimited players, so they are always open; blackjack seats are often limited to seven, and when a table is full you either wait or "bet behind" another player's hand. High-limit tables exist for bigger stakes; low-limit ones suit small budgets, though a cheap minimum still adds up over a fast session.

Live casino bonuses

Welcome bonuses often exclude live casino games or count them at a fraction of their stake towards wagering. Before taking a bonus with live play in mind, check the game contribution table in the terms. A separate live casino bonus, where offered, tends to carry its own wagering. In practice, live casino players are often better off without a bonus and with a clean balance they can withdraw at any time.

Live casino searches that are not about online play

A few searches, such as live casino Dublin, are after a building rather than a stream. This page covers online live dealer games only. Whatever the venue, the same 18+ rule applies.

Readers' questions

Is live casino rigged?
Live games use physical cards and wheels in studios audited under the operator licence. The house edge is built into the rules and published, which is how the casino makes its money, not by interfering with results.
Which live casino game has the best odds?
Blackjack played correctly and the banker bet in baccarat have the lowest house edge. European roulette, at 2.70%, beats American roulette at 5.26%.
Can I play live dealer games on a phone?
Yes, in the casino app or a mobile browser. A live stream needs a steady connection; a dropped feed mid-round is settled under the table's rules, which are in its help screen.
Can I use a bonus on live casino games?
Often only partly. Many welcome offers exclude live games or count them at a reduced rate towards wagering, so check the contribution table first.
